Hilda 1923

The Hamlet of Hilda was established in 1923 with the arrival of the railroad.

The hamlet of Hilda is located in South Eastern Alberta, right along the Alberta/Saskatchewan border.

The once booming hamlet has been an active agriculture area since before it's establishment. Industries such as oil and gas explorations, grain farms, cattle ranches and now new wind energy keep this small populated area thriving. Centered in the community is our very active community center, BMX pump track, 3 baseball diamonds, tennis courts and playground.  A post office is in located in the Community center.  Also in use is the old Hilda School which closed in 1989.

The Hilda and Community Association was incorporated in 1946 when local area members saw a need for a structured body to over see the running of the community center and events. The HCA currently runs and operates events such as the Annual Christmas Supper, a New Years Eve celebration, the Hilda's Got Talent night and weekly noon lunches during the winter months.
